The Embik Learning Centre has been established in a rural setting with the main objective of improving the technical skills of peasant farmers and training the youth in vocational agriculture to enhance agricultural productivity and income, reduce rural poverty, assist the development of the rural economy and reduce the rate of the rural – urban migration.
Training is supported in all areas with production activities to render training as practical as possible in animal, crop and non traditional agricultural production.

All training activities are undertaken under the auspices of the Embik College of Vocational Agriculture (ECOVA) which is managed by university graduates with long experience in teaching and in farmer training with the support of experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and NGOs. |
The NVTI training programme includes an Introduction to Entrepreneurship to encourage trainees to have a business approach to agriculture to correct the traditional notion that agriculture is mainly for subsistence. |
The College runs National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) programmes in Agriculture to provide a structured training programme of one to two years to the Junior and Senior High School graduates who want to make agriculture a vocation.
The College has an ICT training unit that runs courses in Microsoft Office to facilitate record keeping for the entrepreneurs and to broaden their horizon through the internet especially with respect to their vocation.
